When Textile Becomes Architecture
I am increasingly interested in how textile art can move beyond decoration and start behaving as a spatial element.
In this recent hand-tufted piece, I explored sculptural softness as a way to introduce calm, warmth, and material depth into interiors. I chose washed linen for its natural elegance and its ability to subtly transform how a space feels, not just how it looks.
When I develop textile artworks, I approach them as part of the architectural narrative. Volume, density, and fiber movement can influence atmosphere, acoustics, and the emotional reading of a space in ways that rigid materials often cannot.
For me, textile installations are not simply artworks placed within a project — they are elements that help shape the identity and sensory experience of the environment itself.
