Collaborating with Interior Designers on Custom Textile Art

Working with interior designers is different from working directly with a client. You already have a vision for the space — a concept, a palette, an atmosphere you are building toward. My job is not to impose something on top of that, but to listen to what the space needs and respond to it.

The best textile commissions happen when we talk early. Before dimensions are fixed, before the project is too far along to integrate something properly. The earlier we connect, the more the piece can feel like it was always part of the design rather than added at the end.

What I need from you

You do not need a fully resolved brief to reach out. What helps most is:

  • A sense of the space — architecture, atmosphere, what it needs to feel complete

  • The aesthetic direction of the project — even a mood board or a few references works

  • Dimensions, when you have them

  • Timeline

From there I respond within 48 hours with an initial read on the concept and relevant portfolio references. If there is a good fit, we move forward from there.

Two ways to work together

For projects with tighter timelines, working from my existing portfolio is often the right approach. We select a design that fits the brief and adapt it — scale, proportion, finish — to the specific space. Production sits around 5 weeks.

For projects that call for something entirely site-specific, I develop a fully bespoke piece from scratch around your brief. Production takes 6 to 8 weeks from confirmation.

Both options result in a piece exclusive to your project, with a certificate of authenticity and complete technical documentation — everything you need for your client file and for presenting the investment with confidence.
